We saw quite a few deer. I only got a decent shot at one. It ran off. Tried to track it for three hours after losing the blood trail. I think I failed to compensate for shooting up hill. The deer was about 20 feet higher than me.

Sad too. The Doe never knew I was there until I took the shot.

Successfully home, it would seem.
That and we as a group saw more deer this year than we have before. There were years we didn't see squat on the same hill side.

I installed a Builtright Industries dash mount in the 2019 because I've gotten tired of having issues with the suction cup mounts for my cell phone and GPS. I got a mount system for both as well as one for the Samsung tablet that will eventually get used for off road driving with the forum members.

I did run into a couple of glitches with the install.

1) Getting the tray to reinstall, I had to remove some plastic from the underlying support structure so the nuts would clear. Either the manufacturer installed the fasteners upside down and didn't clarify that or ran the mount base all the way forward in the tray to avoid the plastic under structure and failed to mention it. I wanted the space between the mount base and the tray to still be available to store stuff. So I had to take extra steps in order to make it work.

2) The bracket arms aren't long enough. I thought that could be a problem but being a first timer in installing a ball mount system, I didn't know for sure. I'll just have to order longer arms so I can drop the devices down some more and block less of the view out the windshield. The tablet mount may require some try and try again in order to get it right.

Other wise the install went fine and looks good. The base works with AMPS format. So that made choosing the arm mount portion easy enough. It also seems to be a pretty solid mount base. I think the plastic center tray will start giving out before the mount base will.

Well I got the GMRS installed yesterday. I will have to say the antenna they send with the MXT275 is kinda of cheap. I will save up and get one of the low profile ghost antenna later. Had to wait on the new switch panel so I had a place to locate it all. So I put the Nilight 8 switch setup in. Works good and has some cool all on features and such. Now to decide on what to do for the rest of my aux lighting. Since I have 5 open switches might as well find a way to use them haha. Also got the X Grip Ram phone mount. Way nicer than the cheapo walmart one I've been using.

For what it's worth, I've read some good things about that dinky little thing they send with the MXT275 and MXT575. Granted, the 6db will out perform it since it's a better length and design for the band. You might not get much better results with the ghost antenna compared to what you have now. Give it a shot and make sure it's the Midland antenna and not one of those amazon specials.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
I’ve been dealing with RCI to figure out if their 21+ Bronco rear diff skid plate will work on the Ranger diff. We came to the conclusion of… let’s just try it. They’ve got one on its way to me.
I also ordered the full set of skid plates:
Engine, trans, transfer case, cat guards, and fuel tank.
