im kind of stuck i have the axle shafts and outers removed as well as the pinch bolts, snap rings, and and camber bolts off of the balljoints, but i still cant get the knuckle to separate from the axle, at the lower balljoint. i tryed hitting it with a hammer and soaking it with penetrating oil but its not going anywhere

Sounds like you need a bigger hammer. It goes slow sometimes, but it'll come.

Big hammer and hit the knuckle where the ball joint is and it'll come apart. No special tricks to it. If you aren't worried about saving the ball joints then you can get a pickle fork between the knuckle and axle beam and use that to desperate them.

48oz hammer minimum.

Strike the SIDE of the beam as low as possible without it glancing off the corner.

If you do it "right" you can do it in ONE mighty swing...

Or atleast I sometimes can.

the trick is swinging with everything you've got.
