I decided to check my transmission fluid on my 93 ranger , 2.3L Manual , 2wd . It might be low but I’ll more likely flush it out and add new fluid , what kind of fluid should I use ? , Manual trans fluid ? Or automatic transmission fluid , it sounds kinda dumb but since I kept searching the subject I saw different people using different fluids , so I wanted to clarify what’s best for my truck

Yes, 1993 2.3l will have an M5OD-R1 manual transmission, AKA M5R1

Holds 2.8 Quarts of Mercon V ATF, but bone dry, after draining it may only take 2 quarts, and a bit, to refill
