I feel like the fact that the bottom is not spherical anymore is causing it to bind up. I would try to fully weld the piece on and then round it off and polish it.
Yeah after uncle gump suggested some machinist blue that’s kinda where my mind was going also that it’s probably has to do with not fully welding the bottom and not being round. Was a temporary fix just to get it home gonna play with it some more and see what i come up with

No problem. I just didn't want you to get discouraged if it took a bit longer to get your information. We love helping each other, solving problems and sharing information... among all the joking around.
How do you get the veteran badge and other badges?

When you are working on something, you constantly have to be aware of what's going on and how what your working on reacts. In other words, the tranmission broke and it acted a certain way. After you worked on it, it presented another set of problems. So it's obvious that whatever you did was part of the new set of problems. Coincidences do happen, but not very often. I am sure you will finally get it fixed.
Agree with you 100% I know Forsure it was something that I did. That ball has slipped up the shaft a few times was easy enough out a washer behind it didn’t do it for a long time. Until it slipped down onto the trans. First mistake was messing with the linkage forsure. At the same time I’m glad I did learned a few things about manual transmissions. As far as moving the forks around and what fork is for what gears so that’s cool. All part of the process

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Go to your account details page and scroll way down. You'll see an area where you can click on buttons for recognized professions or military service.
