I was going on what was said about one not being available within 150 miles...

I didn't think that meant you couldn't order one.

What's involved in customs to import a US vehicle to Canada? Looks like the actual registration process isn't that involved, but a quick search didn't answer the question of customs fees.

Its probably too late to order a new one from scratch. Most of what is availabe are Supercrews and loaded up. Supercabs have usually 2 options I want, with 2 -3 option I don't want.

Ordering is best route usually. Buying used is a joke through overinflated pricing. Demand must be high.

That's not something I want to get into.

Yep, that too.

As far as I know, the government has never really gotten involved in the -how- of meeting fuel economy and emissions standards. Manufacturers can pretty much choose whatever equipment they want to use (or not to use) to get there. I'm honestly not sure that even the catalytic converter is required. It's just a necessity to meet the standards.
Sort of.

The epa certification process is patently ridiculous....

The amount of emissions is self defeating. So they just pretend it's doing something worthwhile....

There are ONLY 4x4 Rangers in Canada.
Because Canada is forcing that....

Ford is asshoes though for facilitating this...the thier advantage.

They used one chassis platform for two body options....and one powertrain platform

This is genius in paying for entry...and maximizing break even to profit time.

They are final testing the new nano engine platforms...so there will be monster engines in the next gen and possibly a manual.

A 2wd is useless to me because of where I go and what I do.....but for some it's fine.

But like manual transmissions.....

Used is overinflated because they cant get parts to build new ones.

The plant that is building Rangers and Broncos is actually shutting down for two weeks because they can't get parts, Bronco scheduling is totally whacked out because of parts shortages. I haven't heard anything specific to the Ranger side of things, we have a Bronco on order so I have kinda followed them.

Some poor sod at the F-150 plant is driving the trucks to parking lots and ripping modules out of them so they can be installed in more trucks to be driven to storage. They are running out of nooks and crannys to store them so they are going to be idling that plant for awhile too.

And then when computer chips become available somebody is going to get a ton of practice installing modules in trucks so they can actually be sold.

So if you want a new one order it but plan on waiting for awhile. The used market is going to be jacked up for a long time because of this.
