I was having some 4x4 issues last summer and heard random clicking from the control mod. area while not engaged. After a while it quit and so did my 4wd. Ended up replacing the motor...all good during summer. Now its cold and wont shift into 4wd again. Figured out that if I run my heater really hot for a while I get dash signal and clicking and can shift but as soon as the heat goes down I have no connection and no dash signal or clicking. So, it will either not shift in or shift out unless I heat up the cab or the 4wd control module. I want to replace the thing but at the price they want it is a gamble. What else could it be and how do you figure this goofy thing out?

thanks in advance
