i have a 351 modified, its gettin old and brittle, so i got my hands on a bad ass short block windsor, are the motor mounts the same between the two in a late 70's truck?

no, a 351m is a big block motor, and the 351w is a small block motor

well, a 351 modified is not a small block, it shares the same bolt pattern as that of the 400m and 460, i have owned more then my fair shar of 78-79 fords with modified motors.....

if u want to be precise, a 351m, is a 351 m for these reasons, it is built off a destroked 400 with windsor heads

yea ive been readin some stuff and windsor is small black, and apparently the 351m is like a mid sized? neither big or small block
but anyways it wont be a problem switching motors in my truck right? take the M out and change motor mounts and put the W in???

The mounts, converter, flywheel, bellhousing, and accessory brackets should all be different.
