im having woes trying to hook up my surround sound system so I can get the speakers working with the tv and video games. It works currently with just the dvds. I have a hdmi cable hooking up the stereo reciever to the tv, then I just hooked up a digital optical cable from the tv output to the reciever input. I was hoping this would make it work but it still wont play with the tv on. I tried all the different functions on the reciever which include a d/in, and aux 1/2. I have read up on the internet and did everything people say to do. Does anyone know how to do it?
It is a dynex 46 inch tv and a samsung ht510z (pretty sure) surround sound system. Speakers work awesome with movies if anyone is looking for a cheap surround sound system.
