Started out as a basic Mazda B3000, 5spd....4x4....etc, etc.

It's transformed into a decent off-road/DD. Lights, grille guard, locker F&R, upgraded hubs, 5-760x joints, 4.10's, 2" lift, etc, etc......

Not to mention, there isn't a bolt I haven't touch on this truck, not a thing I haven't looked over. ALOT, I MEAN ALOT is NEW on this truck.

With aftermarket mods......how exactly does one judge monetary worth? I'm not sure, so.....why not post on TRS and get some Ranger owner's opinion?

I'm thinking hard about selling it to fund the search for a newer 4x4 Ranger with a 4.0 and 5spd, and I don't want to give the truck away......kelly blue book doesn't exactly have tabs to click for these add-ons.....:icon_twisted:

Thanks to everyone!

im not great at judging monetary values either, but how much would you say you have invested in it so far?

Oh hell, I don't even want to think about the money that has gone into this truck. Truth be told, if I knew how much was wrong with it when I bought it....I wouldn't have touched it.

Just in standard maintenance and repair....at least 2K. In mods, another 2K. Maybe 4K into a 2K truck? So 6K.....don't think I could touch that in this market. That money doesn't even begin to cover the pain, sweat, labor, frustration, cuss words, and flesh wounds this truck has caused me.....lol.

I'm thinking 4K, maybe $4,500 might be a good starting point? Anybody?:dunno:

A good 75% of the time, any modifications other then a good looking set of wheels etc actually ends up in a loss in value. I have a 97' with a good body, no rust etc and could replace it for under 5k. I have around 6-7k into modifications......I would have a hard time getting 8k out of it if I tried to sell it. Brendan had his ranger on 1 tons, very cleanly built for sale for $9500 and couldn't get a bite.

that sounds pretty fair to me. its a very clean truck so im sure someone with the right appreciation for it would pay that. i would put it at around 5,500 and let them talk you down alittle. that way they feel like they also get a deal.

I can't remember where I saw it but they suggested take the stock value of the truck and add 1/2 of the value of the 'upgrades'. So your $4,000.00 estimate seems bang on.
Good luck,

Richard

I might try and sell it with all the mods, my other option is to dull it down and sell it stockish, then sell the mods on here. I have a while to think about it.

That's what I'm afraid of. Good mods = nothin.

Keep in mind, this truck is in just as good, if not better mechanical order than trucks 10 years newer. You wouldn't believe the mechanical condition of some rangers running around here.

More or less. Unfortunately you really have to appeal to a pretty small group (like TRS members) to make a good return on most mods.

A couple months ago I sold my 94 B400 reg cab that was very clean and very straight with 187k for $2300. It seems like the extended cabs go for a bit more.

$4k wouldn't be a bad place to start.

I would bet you're gonna have a hard time seeing over 3K on that truck.

Mods do nothing but lower the value, unless you're seeling to an enthusiast. Even then you're not gonna get the full amount that you invested.

That's the crappy part about modifying your vehicles.
