My credo
Break it right the first time. Fix it better the next time.
So I went to Raleigh NC for a John Deere tech school. Boarding my return flight Thursday they made me check my bag because of full flight even though it was carry on. Got to Atl at 7 p:m. Flight was at 9:53. Got close to time. Delayed an hour. This continued until it was delayed until 6:45 a:m Friday. So they told me I could pay for a hotel at a discounted rate for a hundred dollars. I said no they should pay. Anyways they won the argument because I got pissed off and walked away after my reschedule.
.
Went to baggage claim to request to get my bag. Said a couple hours and I will have it. Sat in a chair from 11 pm 5 am Friday morning. Checked with them and they said they haven't even laid hands on it yet. Said f it and went back through security to my terminal.

6:45 flight delayed until 8:20. Here we go again. 7 am they call me and said they have my bag and what do I want to do. I told them to keep it because I was instructed not to leave the terminal because flight was leaving any minute. They said they would put it on the plane but it might get there an hour late or before. I said how if the only two planes going to Gulfport were leaving at the same time.

Anyways finally left Atl at 12:30 after sitting on the plane for 30 minutes. Got to Gulfport and the other plane landed before us and we had to wait another 30 minutes to unload. Got off and waited for my bag and come to find out it was on the other plane so had to go to baggage claim desk to retrieve it and thankfully they had it. Wife picked me up and got home around 2:30 pm which made it 32 hours I was up straight.
Took a shower and went to sleep at 3 pm. Woke up at 8 this morning.

By the way this was my first time flying ever. It was wonderful..

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Flying saves so much time and helps you stay relaxed and happy.

Wow. I probably could have driven you to Gulfport and returned home in less than 32 hours. (in a 1993 3.0l Ranger on 35's)

That's crazy. I've heard bad things about delta and American airlines. We've flown about a half dozen round trips and we've always used southwest. Never had any issues and can actually get on and off pretty quickly. We were only flying from Columbus, Ohio to Baltimore so the flight wasn't long either. Normally Baltimore is a little harder to get on than Columbus.

Back in the 70's-80's dad had to drive clear across Iowa to go to Moline for JD training.

I enjoyed the training. I already knew lots of it, but I learned a lot also.

Delta airlines. I was told that stands for
Doesn't Ever Leave The Airport
I can confirm this.

Was stuck in Atlanta last Wednesday for five hours waiting on a Delta flight because they couldn't electrically disconnect the jet way from the plane. Plane was there, crew was there, that was the only thing stopping us from boarding the aircraft. Like you, I was on my way to GulfPort.

I live 30 miles from Gulfport airport. I'm glad you were only there for five hours.
