What year and model Ford vehicles will be good donors for third gen driver side female seatbelt buckle? The kind with the sensor.

Mine went out looks like the spring. I was originally thinking of taking the assembly off the middle belt since I converted to buckets but I read somewhere that the sensor wouldn't work properly I suppose I could jerry rig the sensor so it's always detected. But I don't mind spending a few bucks to get the right part preferably under 30 or so bucks.

Looked on ebay and all I find are explorer seatbelts not sure they'll work they look right but they are for 91 to 94 or so. Any help guys a direct bolt on used would be great and you guys have one laying around? Lol grey interior.

I assume this is for your 96, in which case the female section and connector from a 95-96 (possibly a 97) explorer should work. Best way is to take a pic of yours and cruise the JY until you find a match, depending on the yard $10-$20.

If going used make sure the vehicle wasn't in a wreck and that is why it was junked.

If it was being used parts inside could have been weakened or damaged.

Yes +1

I was recently visiting family in Arizona and went to the JY with my uncle, was talking to the guy there about seat belts as mine on my 94 are getting bad again. He stated that in AZ it was illegal to resale safely items in a junked car.

I assumed as much but havent been finding any on ebay from those years but plenty for previous year explorers. It looks the part to be honest.
