Tried NAPA and their cable was $ 13. However it was ONLY the cable and not the heavy rubber surrounding sheath and ends. Returned and went to Ford and got one for $ 42.00.
Had to remove the entire e-brake assembly (three bolts one a PITA on top behind the gears. IN addition the pull handle for the brake release (two torx). Had to remove to pull up the old brake cable sheath.
Part of the old cable was still broke inside the gear assembly so I pulled that back and used a screw driver in the locking hole (did not line up to the bottom plate hole for some reason). Threaded the new cable assembly into the floor area. Then inserted the new cable into the gear and removed the screw driver. Aligned the assembly back in place onto the grommet assembly and then the last bolt to go back on was a PITA (top bolt of the three).
Had a friend help under the truck for both of us to pull the two ends to meet in the holding clip. Old cable PITA to get out of that too.
All done and good as new.
