Had a 2 week work thing but now back to the build! Got the manifold weelded up today and with the chill block i made came out pretty damn straight except the t4 flange as i did a bit too much per weld... oh well pretty easier to surface that flange than the header side.

And I had a few extra 3" bends from my last project so went ahead and made the downpipe and front portion of the rest of the exhaust. its just tacked today and i plan to weld it up this week.

Hope to have the crossover pipe made this week and do the cold side next weekend. After that i feel it'll really start coming together. Im sure the wiring and dash will take a bit though too....

Side note this Forum although ok is kinda dead, Does anyone know any other forums this cross dresser build would get more feedback and chatter?

And then the clearance once installed, it isnt much but should be a problem.

Probably weld up the crossover and some other odds and ends tonight and may start the wastegate tomorrow but im still not sure if im going to use what i have or get a different one. I have a 46mm tial 4 bolt flange but V-bands are so easy i may swap to a 44-46 tial or precision gate.

Excellent fab work.
Thanks! love making my own stuff so this is a great project. Cant wait to start testing everything on the street.

Stainless of mild? always interested in fab parts but i think i have enough for this truck right now. I usually use 409 SS 18ga for exhaust.

Got the wastegate mocked and welded in. It would have been way easier with a v-band gate but i had this laying around so i need to get a flexible 10mm socket to actually mount the bolts though.

and mounted, its a tight fit but looks like all the lines for the heater core and A/C will all clear without issues too.

Really impressive fab work. I wish I had the tools and skills to do such clean work. As far as your forum complaint, I'd post it up on a Chevy forum. I have my coyote swap build on here and my old mustang forum and it gets a good bit of chatter over there.

Thanks, yeah its taken years to collect the tools i do have to be able to do this. But in all reality I've learned more ways to do all this stuff with minimal tools along the way that its really a thing anyone can do with a few key hand tool purchases... the issue usually arises on the knowledge to use them correctly and sadly i usually found out those ways after i got the larger cooler tools, lol.

Its not really a complaint just if anyone has any forums they knew of that might fit better. I may post over at LS1tech in the swap section for the swap stuff etc. Still looking for a mini truck forum that isnt all bagged or nothing too though. I by all means have intent to keep this one going as it started out full ranger but I like an overall running thread to look back and see evolution of a project. Also gives others ideas regardless of the platform/eng/brand.

OK small update, Added the wideband and crankcase scavenge bungs to the down pipe and finished welding up the passenger side manifold. Starting to look like i can weld on some of these.

Then after I realized I had no tools to get to the bolts for the wastegate i needed to make a cheap tool out of a 10mm and a 12" extension.

Since i was waiting on the rest of the exhaust parts I moved on to making the truck alternator work with the vette accessories bracket. it was cheaper than buying a new alternator.

Plenty of work still to do though, starting to get excited as most of the systems are nearing completion ant then itll be on to minor paint and assembly. just need more time to work on it.

Ok, so got the radiator inlet and outlet relocated so it will all work together. I think the lower rad house may end up going through the frame rail or under it as there is just no more room... we shall see though.

20170909_181310 by Z S, on Flickr
20170909_181330 by Z S, on Flickr

And still need to figure out where the radiator fill will end up after the intercooler is complete.

20170905_191520 by Z S, on Flickr

ANd then got back to the intercooler and charge pipes. THey came out pretty good i think.

ANd the overhead shot, still need to weld it all up but after tall the pie and fit i was done for the day. want to do the radiator pipe the same style but ill have to reconvene on that though cause i melted the smaller pipe pretty bad and need a new 1.5" tube to remake one.

little update.

Finished the charge pipes welding. came out pretty decent, think itll look better if i get them powdercoated later.

And fabed up most of the rest of the exhaust. currently ends at the back of the cab w/ a V-band. For now ill probably through on a turndown till its operational. After that ill fab up the bedside exit from 3" to dual 2 1/2" out the pass side just before the rear tire out the bed.
20170917_202108 by Z S, on Flickr
20170917_202137 by Z S, on Flickr

And for crank case evap I will be doing a vibrant exhaust scavange setup through a catch can. So the valve covers got dual -8an. had the wrong settings so its not pretty but they are on there. may redo them later if someone wants some these local to me.
20170920_200504 by Z S, on Flickr

Then to finish the radiator and inlet outlets. Here is the outlet as the LSX is a reverse flow through the stat. Also the final radiator fill.
20170925_200726 by Z S, on Flickr
ANd the lower rad pipe which is the inlet. Yes it does go through the frame as there really was no where else with enough room to be able to remove it.
20170926_193919 by Z S, on Flickr
20170926_193946 by Z S, on Flickr
And added a -4an for the drain as the rad doesnt have one and no room.
20170930_154531 by Z S, on Flickr

ANd then started on the turbo drain line setup. But the kit it came with didnt allow access to get the -10an fitting so I extended the fitting out a few inches to make it easy to work.

And the oil pan fitting to match. also closed off the oil level sensor since im not using the oem ecu.
20171007_121122 by Z S, on Flickr
20171007_124457 by Z S, on Flickr

Then on to the power steering setup. Snagged a silverado cooler that i modded the lines and bolts behind the grill. makes running lines super easy.
20171008_150254 by Z S, on Flickr
ANd all my JY parts to try to make a GM pump feed a Ford box. I cut and welded the fittings on the pressure line. Think itll hold but just in case Im starting to track down -6an adapter fittings and ill just fab a line if it fails or i just need a better ran setup.

20171001_185630 by Z S, on Flickr
20171001_191044 by Z S, on Flickr

And along with the lines and retrofit coolers i didnt have a res for the corvette pump as its not part of the setup like the truck ones i needed to make a res. so currently inwork is the aluminum res.
20171008_191533 by Z S, on Flickr
20171008_191558 by Z S, on Flickr

Now ill add a -6an fitting at the top for the return and originally i was going to make it out of the spare steel parts but i like aluminum too much so i this is the result. Now i thought i had the right steel fittings but once they came in i realized 3/4" was too big it was actually a 5/8". so i fabbed up a 5/8" nipple out of aluminum billet i had laying around. I kinda have a tool problem so i have way too many odd tools like a lathe. here it is, and ill be finishing it up and hopefully starting on the catch can today.
