As I was pricing the hydro steering for this and the associated stuff that goes with it I finally realized I can't put this thing together with the HP60 anytime soon. I really want to go all out on that axle and that requires asinine amounts of money that I just don't have. This stuff is hella expensive.
So, since I have it and all it'll get the Dodge LP60 as a temporary axle. It has to go together fairly cheap with that as its not the final axle for the truck.

Yes, I'm aware that my champagne tastes don't match up with my beer budget. No need to point that out, thanks. lol

Scored the dump truck Saturday in trade for my old IH p/u.
Couple pix:

I've actually had the little IH for ages. Bought it for $400 way back when.

To be fair, I haven't really gone over it yet. I got there in flip flops and shorts and had no intention of braving the brambles for a purely visual inspection. It wasn't going to start (no batteries) so I was mostly interested in securing it.
I'm told the steering has about a full turn of free play so it definitely needs a steering box. Its got a 400 Cat, 15 speed and heavy axles plus a fairly recent dump box.
It drove to where it sits.

I'm pretty sure its an okay deal. ($400.) :icon_thumby:

(I paid $400 for the IH like 15 - 18 years ago.)

I just realized the bylaw dude was supposed to be here a week & a half ago and he didn't show up. Now its been almost a month.
To be clear, I'm pretty sure I'm not off the hook (thats not how my luck works.) yet. And more sure he'll be back as soon as I do anything new.
But I might try my luck this weekend...

I like the old Sammys. A bit like an ancient war era J33p unless you have a tin top version. Short, narrow and underpowered and with the tin roof throw in top-heavy but a surprisingly decent wheeler for trails (but not mud.)
Eventually you'll have to de-virginize your Ranger. Mall ratings are overrated.

Excellent. When you lay that Samurai on its side (and your gonna if you wheel fairly hard) it takes two guys to stand one back up again. They're pretty light.
For the Ranger, as long as you don't flop it over its all good. Jeep guys need enlightenment anyways. And if you break something then consider that the weak link so by fixing that you've made the truck that much better. Eventually, nothing will break and the Jeep guys will never understand that concept. (theres a reason the "best" Jeeps have almost no Jeep parts left in them. lol) Haha. I digress.

Pretty glad I didn't start anything yet. Bylaw dick came back this morning.
But... he's giving me 60 days to look after all the issues. I can work with that.

Now to rip the hell outta two RBV's and an F350! I don't care that the 351 in the 1 ton is about wore out, I need it in the Ranger quickly cuz it runs.
The Ranger is gonna get fawked up within 60 days!

Edit: Started to gut the engine compartment. This truck is done with gas V-6's.
