Since I've boughten my 1994 Ford Ranger V6 3.0 Manual Transmission a couple months ago, I've have a hard time in 5th gear. All the other gears seem to be fine but when I shift into 5th gear my Truck like lugs and jerks and I can't get speed very fast. It also makes the speedometer go up and down kinda weird too, like it will be at 60 then all of a sudden jump to 65 not smooth into it. It's like when you turn on a Ford Truck in the morning and the engine is still cold. I've just been staying in 4th gear and staying at 3k RPM but I wanna fix this. What could be the problem for this? and what kind of tune ups can I do to make this jerking go away.

Edit: O and there has never been a check engine light yet since I've had the truck
