Hey guys. I just re did all the tierods on my 85 prerunner with a manual steering box and because of the way I made my tierod adjusters and difference in length of the new tierods I cannot line up the steering wheel to be centered. Is it possible to pull the steering shaft off the gearbox input shaft and clock it to the correct position or will I run into and issue inside the gearbox with turning to full lock?

Thank you for any input.

If memory serves me correct, the steering shaft is keyed and only goes together one way.
Best would be to sort out the length issue you have with your tie rods (the steering box itself needs to be within a certain range of center anyway, if it's not centered it tends to exhibit more play).

You're probably right on the keyed shaft. I'm glad you mentioned the box being centered. I didn't even take that into account.

Thanks for your help 4x4.
