I have the 1983 ford ranger with a 2.8l now my power steering always leaks and I just want to replace it to something that doesn’t, I’ve seen the heavy duty pumps that you can do on a 2.3l can you do the same upgrade on the 2.8l or is there a different upgrade I can.

Ive been eye balling the electric pump route. Just find a decent pump, get the wiring for it, and have it set to ignition HOT so it only runs when the key is on.

Youll have PS when the car is running and when its not. Plus, no lost power or engine drag. Less belts. My truck doesnt have PS or AC. So a single belt. ALT/GEN, Water, crank.
