Looks great! I'm not really big on lowered trucks, unless its a lightning lol. BUT I like it. Love the heat extractor hood. Good luck on the engine work

Thanks for the kind words everybody! I'm glad other people appreciate all of the work that it's taken to get the truck to it's current condition.

I think I'm in love. Your truck looks so clean and I can't wait to see what it's like with everything done to it.

Where did you get the column mounted gauge pod? And I might as well ask where you got the whipple charger while I'm at it.
The gauge pod is from Autometer. It's listed as a Ford Superduty part if I recall correctly, but it fits like a glove! If your truck is a stick, and you want one without the hole for the column shifter, I'm told the Mustang ones will work too.
I got the whipple from a guy on another forum who was selling the kit. If you keep your eyes open, they pop up on various forums and ebay from time to time.

When they were new, they ran around $3000-3500. Usually, a used kit will sell for around $2000 plus shipping. I got my kit used, shipped to my door, with a gauge pod for $1800, and I felt like that was a pretty good deal. Had to get a new pulley for $100, but I won't be using the injectors that came with the kit, so I may be able to sell them and get some money back.

Sorry guys, I didn't realize this had been bumped.

so how did you make the hood did you cut and weld or what thanks
The hood is basically a composite hood from a 01-03 ranger EDGE that I cut the center out of. Then I cut the center out of a composite 03-04 Cobra hood, joined the two pieces together, and did a crap ton of bodywork to make it look right.

Thanks for bringing this back up to the top. How's the truck?
The truck is good! Making progress on the engine actually. I bought a spare motor, tore it down, cleaned it up, and have the block/pan painted. I've got about 90% of a port/polish job done on the heads, and the blower assembly is back together. I'm measuring crank journals to pick the proper rebuild kit tonight, then it will be balanced and assembled. I'll try and get some progress pics loaded here in the next few days for those of you who are interested.

These pics are a couple weeks old now, but I haven't had time to take any more, so they'll have to do for now.

Cylinders after 96,000 miles

Got it torn down, cleaned up, and painted

The block and pan were both painted Ford blue. All of the surfaces that oil will touch, including the underside of the intake, lifter valley and inside of the timing cover were painted with an oil resisting, thermal paint called Glyptal to keep oil running back to the pan, and hopefully keep the intake charge a little cooler. I'll post more pics before the heads go to the machine shop!

Sent them to the machine shop for a 5 angle valve job and back cut. Got them back a couple of days ago, and pretty'd them all up!

Truck looks great! I really like how the style those cobra brakes give to the truck!
At first sight I was like why the hell the SVT sticker if it's a stock 3.0?:icon_confused:

Then, when I read the ''Whipple'' word in the 2nd page it got me interested.. And this last page got me excited.. :yahoo:

Which way will you go for the tuning?

Idk if I already posted in here... if I did, I forgot and am too lazy to look, but this is hands down one of the best looking 2wd rangers I've ever seen.
