Hey guys. I have seen a few guys on here using computer programs to show the design of a part that they wanna build or buy. The downside to allot of these programs aren't free.
I have been using one called Google Sketchup 8, which is free, for as long as version 8 has been out. It is pretty simple to learn if you have some computer skills. I learned how to use it myself with no tutorials in about a week. I learned just about everything needed. And even if you don't wanna make the whole part yourself, they have a website called the 3D Warehouse that has all kinds of stuff (which is all free to download) that you can download and modify to your hearts content.
If you have any questions, you can find all kinds of helpful tips and tutorials on YouTube.
