OHV valve cover bolt.

Hello,

Was replacing the valve cover gaskets among other things on my 92' 4.0L and somehow, someway, even with me putting the bolts and washers in a magnetic tray, I've lost one of the 16....So wondering if anyone has any extra's laying around? Haha or can give me a source for a replacement or just the proper size and thread pitch? Washer will be almost impossible to find I'm guessing. I'll keep looking around but don't want the truck sitting in the garage forever because of one stupid valve cover bolt. Haha

You know, you would think so. But I've gone to hardware stores some many times for bolts like this and they look at me sideways. Besides that it's the washer I would like to find the most.

Assuming your 92 is the same as my 95, the bolt size you're looking for is an M6x20mm with 1mm thread pitch.

I replaced mine with stainless fasteners last year, but I think my old ones are too grungy to bother mailing from Minnesota.
If you want to be nice to the valve cover gaskets, 22mm fender washers fit nicely if you're willing to ream the ID with a die grinder just a bit.

Yeah, pretty sure they are metric. Some years used a washer, some used a washer head bolt, some used a wing shaped washer. Any of the above is fine, especially for one bolt, just if you have the wing shaped washers, use the regular bolt and washer on the top of the valve cover, the bottom is where most leaks happen.

If you are near a Tacoma Screw I'd recommend going in there with one of your bolts and washers. The folks at the one near me are awesome and it's so much better (for me) than trying to find a part in one of the box stores. Usually cheaper too. Back when I had my Vanagon they saved my butt several times.

AutoZone have the screws you need. M6x20mm.
