About time you just signed up...

I'm still jealous of the rust free trucks you folks have. Tell us a bit more... 2wd... 4wd... 4.0L... etc... and the current price of gas. You know... the important stuff.

Welcome to TRS...

Cool , bought it in 2002 , it's a 01 xlt 4x extra cab with the 4.0 ,Sold my 1991 ranger to get this one. the old one I took to 280,000 and sold it to a friend and that ranger was still running strong, so yes, I bought another, and have took this baby everywhere and has gladly taken me over rocks, dirt roads anything to get to a fishing spot , we have a great time, and I have put a lot of work and love into this baby ,she is just about to hit 300,000 just 550 miles more. And still runs like a champ, when I see old friends they can't believe it's still runs and looks good, no mods just good ol' ford engineering I have used it for years as my work truck ,pallets of tile, demo, mortars, wood , just keeps Rollin but just recently transmission of light came on and thru my obd reader found out it needs a new transmission speed sensor or TSS so ordered one and hope that solves my issue with the hard shifting a slow speeds plus the OD light, so I'll keep in touch and let everyone know how simple or tough this is to do. If there is any advice ..I'm all ears.

I've taken a couple of these trucks to the 300K mark... pretty trouble free too. Unfortunately... living in the rust belt... the bodies just don't survive.

Hopefully you get the transmission figured out...

Got it fixed , the TSS came out easy ,easy to access and replace , after the screw came out it would not thread back in ,as if it was Short, replaced it with he same size screw except just a little longer,( M6 -1.0x16mm) then added a washer to minimize the length to about four extra threads ,worked like a charm , all is back to normal , shes running fine.
