this is on a 1991 ford ranger. First off i am not an electrical person..im not very good at finding the problem and fixing it..but i am gonna try... i have an issue.. when the light switch is pulled all the way out only the headlights work..no dash lights or tail lights.. so i tought oh it must be the switch..so i put a new one in last night..and it still had the same problem and smelled like burning plastic which its never done before.. i do have turn signals and brake lights...my questions are..how to find the short or whatever it is..why didnt it blow a fuse...and could it somehow be the plug? it looked like this when i took it out the first time...
