Well my dads '99 yukon is on its way out. Has around 190,000 miles on it, and the axle bearings are going/gone, among other problems.

Need some opinions on what to replace it with. Must get good gas mileage(20+ mpg) and be able to comfortably tow around 3000lbs(4 place snowmobile trailer)

He's thinking about an f-150 or explorer. must have low miles, and be no more than a few years. budget is around $20,000

Still trying to figure out what options are out there. What do you guys recommend?

If you're getting a truck, don't even waste your time with an extended cab, get a crew cab. I'd look for a 04-08 F150 with that kind of budget.

well ive been looking around on craigslist and from what ive seen he might be better off getting a new f150. should get 15/21 mpg with the crew cab 4x4 ecoboost and can be had for around $30,000. heck, the used(older) ones i was finding were over $20,000 and had like 60,000mi on them

Depends on how many people you haul, how big they are and how often.

Once in awhile I stuff someone in mine, but usually it is a gear locker. For example my bowcase fits absolutly perfectly between the front center console and the rear seatback. With no kids, I am of the mind that if you don't like the accomodations I provide, provide your own. The SCrew adds a big chunk of change to the price tag too.

Kinda weird, but all the engines get about the same milage. :icon_confused:
