Exactly. Says "May", not "Will"."May adversely effect" is spelled and pronounced different from "Will void" and means something different too.
That's language the legal department makes them put in to cover their butts when trying to build something for a wide variety of situations. By and large that statement has more to do with decibel level than emissions concerns or anything that would be detrimental to the vehicle.
