I have a stud that bolts my windshield wiper motor to the firewall and it’s hot 12 V but there’s no wire going to it I’m trying to figure out what wire is supposed to be there if there is one?

I think you might have made a mistake with your volt meter

Diagram of wiper motor here: https://ww2-secure.justanswer.com/uploads/drivefast1971/2011-01-03_181926_2.gif

#3 is a stud but it is a Ground not 12volts
And the wipers ground wire bolts to it, and/or other ground wires, but for sure not 12volts at that bolt/stud

The ground wire is seen in this picture: https://www.varaosahaku.fi/image/900/a/85/d4bdc1/path/mnt/newftp/818/fibdb/bild/lgnr/12829(1).jpg

The diagram and picture are not suppose to be specific for a 2004 Ranger, just similar to what you have
