BIG OLD BAG OF SHIT!!!!

but the 302 5.0L EFI only has 85 000km. Paid 600$ for the truck!

im pretty sure my BW1350 will bolt right up to the tranny. and this swap should go well! next years plans!

I hate to be a downer, but do NOT use a 1350. If you're going linked/coilovers you're likely looking at a relatively large amount of wheel travel, am I right? You'll bust the snout off the front output on the t-case if it drops too much and you romp on it. Just my .02!

Be prepared to change the output shaft and rear tail of the tranny.....2wd trannys won't bolt up to transfercases with I am sure you know, but never know.

Correct about the rear tail of the 2wd tranny.

Also, if you started with a 1/2 ton+ 4x4 tranny then the tailhousing to tcase is a 6 bolt mounting design, where the 1350 is a 5 bolt mounting pattern. You would need an adapter to put a half ton tranny to a 1350.

Good looking build so far.

im pretty sure its a A4LD Tranny which should bolt right up.. i know i must remove the tailhousing but idk whats under neath that. the shaft needs to be shorten?

if im wrong then its a AOD tranny? and i can buy this P/N 50-8405 - AOD (1988 & up) to Borg Warner 1350 T/C. (Adapter length of 5" or 9")

http://advanceadapters.com/product/1805/50-8404.html

My Transmission code in my door says "T" which would mean i have a A4LD. but its a f150 and everyone tells me they didnt have this tranny.

did some double checking and with the markings on the trannys oil pan and the tail housing bolt pattern i think ive come to the conclusion i have a 4R70W Tranny which is the same as the Explorer and a adopter is needed 550$...

anyone got ideas on how to make power out of this engine?

i was thinking headers, exaust, computer, Efan.

i also heard that i can put 351w Heads. what can i do for more torque? i know these engines arnt known for there torque but maybe i can change that?

You gonna keep the efi? You could swap the ecu with a mustang(and cam too) then you have lost of options. Like cam swaps, intakes ect...

A set of 5.0 Explorer heads would be a great addition...

yeah i wanna keep it EFI.. i want it to start in the cold mornings of Northern Ontario! soo mustang ECU, GT40 Heads, After Market Cams.

But what Cams i know theres different lifter and duration. mustang cams are??

any intakes that i can buy to eliminate that damn double intake?

Maybe use my imagination and build something... with a K&N

i have a Flowmaster 40 Series that was on my Mazda when i first got it. i think it will be a fine addition with a high flow CAT
also seen someone changed the truck to Mass Airflow Sensor. this could help with a lean gas mixture after some exhaust and intake changes.

i was told theres longer header are better for torque is this true? and does anyone know how much they cost!

I've never had a problem w a stock 302. They've always gave me plenty of power is my 92 ext cab. That's just me. I thought those trucks came w the AOD, then the E4OD. IIRC

Man, I wish I could throw money at my truck and call it done. I think it will look cool though. What are you going to be using it for? Winter vehicle? Or trail?
