Is it possible to put a manual 1354 into my 96 Ranger with automatic transmission? I know the t cases from 91-94 will work in a 91-94. Will they work on the 96? Is there any difference in putting one in a 91-94 then in a 96? My goal is to put in the manual t case and one day possibly a manual trans.

yes it will bolt in fine but get under your truck and see if there are to bolt holes on the side of your trannys tail housing for the linkage bolts. just so you know a 1350 or 1354 will bolt behind any 4wd ranger tranny

Forgot to mention I am looking to go to a manual trans as well, trying to possibly use my 94 as a donor for the trans. I didn't know a 1350 would bolt up, I've actually seen more of those vs the 1354 manual

you want a 1354 they are much stronger than a 1350. the 1354s started in 90 with the 4.0 trucks. but again make sure you have the right bolt holes in the side of the tranny for the linkage or you will need a new tail housing

All the bolt holes will be there. Its a bolt up affair, other than having to pop a hole in the floor.
