I recently installed a radiator from a 5.0 lincoln navigator into my '01 ranger and I'm wondering if maybe I can also use the MAF sensor off the 5.0 on my 3.0 to increase air flow?

Unlikely....from what I've read, there is a characteristic curve of air flow vs. signal out for each model of MAF, and that MAF is for a different engine. Could the computer be calibrated for it? possibly. Is it worth it? hard to say.

MAF sensors are matched to the injectors they are used with. being that the lincoln uses larger injectors than your 3.0, your engine would not run right with that MAF.

you can have either your PCM or the MAF calibrated to make the combo work...but gains will be minimal. i would focus on the puny 50mm TB first.

the stock TB is 50mm...and its tiny.

i belive BBK makes a 56mm TB for the 3.0. an escape 3.0 60mm TB can also be made to fit with a little adapting.

Good deal, I'll have to check that out. Thanks sludge. If and when I do change to the 56mm would it creat any hickups or require any other mod's?
