Loose seat hinge, 86 ranger

One of the hinges on my driver's seat doesn't catch. The side with the lever does just fine, but the other side will still rock back. Has anyone successfully fixed this problem before? Picture just for clarification of where the problem is

Sadly that seems to be by design. I have taken seats apart and there is nothing on the inside to latch. It's just a pivot point

I don't think the passenger seat does it...but I'll double check. If that's the case, it's one more reason for me to dislike engineers. Thanks for the reply

If it's significantly different you could have cracked seat pan. I replaced two on the driver's side before I reinforced one with unistrut.
