ive decided to put a trac lok rear end in my ranger. i have three explorer carcases but the all have code 45 rear ends the rear end i am looking for is either d4 or d5. im going to have to start searching my local scrap yards other than reading door tags are there any indicators of a limited slip at a glance like trim level or motor

Nope. Just the door tag and the toe tag.

If you can spin the wheels a limited will spin in the same direction, an open in opposite directions.

Just curious. Are 8.8 3.27 diffs available with a limited slip? I have zero interest in going bigger on tires, I just want a little better traction. TIA

Check the list in the tech library to be sure, but I would think all ratios have a LS option.

aparently the stock rear end in my 4 cyl ranger cant deal with an extra 15 horses

never thought spining tires would be a problem in a 2.3:icon_confused:
