Got Wires?
Wonder why I needed wiring diagrams from 3 consecutive years to wire in my new Classic gages?

Seems like Big auto manufacturers like to piece/splice things together too.

Got Wires? Let's see...need 3 wires to make engine run/
5 wires for gages & lights/
2 wires for lectric windows/
5 wires for nite drivin/
1 wire for wipers....
that leaves me with 100 extra wires...hmmmm....
i could sell the copper & get a new radio:icon_rofl:

Naaaa...didn't lay-out any wiring.......since I'm a Special Needs Member I used the S.N.M. handbook for wiring....
turn on the key rub a loose wire against the frame/
if it sparks, hook it to sometnin important/works nearly every time
(I learnt that on another thread).

I set the plastic* cab on the original Ranger LWB chassis
-relocated the cab mounts a little & bolted everything down using original cab bolts

The dash is plastic* too / you cut your own gage holes where you want them to be

Edit: Plastic*......Fiberglass
Only took a month to get the wires sorted out:annoyed:
(Ahhh brain damage--What would I do without it?!:icon_rofl:)

Note: Yep, the grill is 24" narrower on a '36 ranger than an '89 ranger
---leaves just enough room for a 2.9l
---but you can stuff a 302 in there with some close fitting headers and a tube of grease...

I just went and merged all of your separate threads together. Please keep all of your posts in this thread. You don't need to make a new one for every picture.

ZMAN thanks a lot you answered my next question I tried deleting the goof-up threads, but could only delete one Is the delete turned off or is my brain damage acting up again?

deleted some more of the goof-up threads thanks for turning my delete button on & merging everything

EDIT: Wicked...to answer your wiring comment...I really think Ford put about a extra mile of wires in the truck
-seriously--some wires go 3 to 5 feet, then u-turn and go back almost to the connection they started from
--the right side speaker wires are 15' long & the under-the-dash wiring is priceless!

Like I said---had to get wiring diagrams for 87-88-89 Ranger & splice diagram pages together b4 I could start splicing new gages into oem wiring

heh that 15' speaker wire, is it for the door speaker or the rear speaker? The door speaker wires go up into the engine compartment, up near the headlights, then go down the inside of the fender and into the door.

Yep, the right door speaker(right rear speaker wire is 20' long)
---I just don't understand eeelectrical engine-eeering

---why go 5' forward from the radio & run wires on the driver's side over the left fender,
4' over the radiator & 5'down the fender on the passenger's side
thru the woods past grand-ma's house to the right door speaker
when you can go from the radio under the dash 35" to the right/
make another right 15" and plug in the front doorspeaker?

If I didn't have brain damage, I could probably understand wiring....

:icon_confused:I completely forgot
---vehicles are made so that the average person will have to take it back to the dealership to get it repaired
---I'll never grasp the concept of "high finance" (I'd run everything straight to the component it was intended for).

No wonder they don't let people like us have any input into technical stuff
---we'd never make them any money
---look at the stock market at how well they're doing without us now!:icon_rofl:
