Hey guys, it's been a little while since I last posted, especially regularly. No I haven't lost my love for rangers, but did have to send my old girl out to pasture. She served me well and fought a hard fight, but in the end I couldn't save her. After weeks of searching for a suitable ranger here in SoCal, I gave up, they're just not that popular around here.
So I had to go to the next best thing, and got a tacoma. It's a white/white 05 extended cab, v6, auto, 4x4, TRD OR, 6" lift with 33" Mickeys, runs like a champ (not great gas mileage, but I think maintenance will smooth that out, and going down to 32's will get me some mileage and clearance). So far I like the tacoma, it doesn't feel like a ranger, and I hate that, but it serves its purpose very well. It's pretty nice having the creature comforts of a newer truck, but I do miss dearly the manual everything.
There's not much reason for me to post here anymore although I may pop in now and again. The guys over at TacomaWorld seem like a good bunch and are treating me well. We're all the same.
Hopefully the taco treats me well in the end and maybe one day Ford will give us a manual everything, v8, SFA, e-lockered, long-travel, 33"+ ready, armored all around, shiny new ranger. I'll be crawling back begging for the cookies and kool-aid again.
You guys are great and taught me a lot, thanks.
