Is the oil pressure guage supposed to move when the key is turned to the on position?

Similar to the other guy's post.

Turn key and I hear a click undr the dash, all the bells and lights come on, but no crank.

I noticed that the oil pressure barely moves when you turn the key to "on"

I noticed an oil leak that wasn't there before and checked the oil but it's only about 1/2 a quart low.

I think I remember that the oil pressure is supposed to go to about mid range when the key is turned to "on?"

The oil pressure guage should only come up to pressure when the engine is running. The fuel pump runs off the crank so if the engine is running or at least turning over it should be reading oil pressure.
