My credo
built her in a storage unit
every shop manual and chiltons/haynes manual states 1 1/2 turns after zero lash but other people have stated otherwise, what is the proper preload for these lifters! just finished pulling the heads and doing new lifters + valves, seals, springs, and pushrods and i don’t know what to believe LOL

Built one 5 years ago , everything new including heads, pre soaked lifters , adjusted them per specs. Just turned a little over 90,000 still going good. This was for my 16 year old grandson!!

Sounds correct. I have a Haynes manual on the Bronco 11 . I can double check if you want me too.

I dont know about that particular motor, but back in the day I always did small block chevys 3/4 turn tight from zero lash. Mostly in boats but did change a cam in a 305 nova, ford lifters may have more or less travel in the lifter for adjustment centering.
