I'm pretty sure the aluminum oxidation has a much higher heat resistance than the actual aluminum . From what I've read the aluminum has to be very clean before successful welding can be done and "assume" the same with flame cutting. Interesting question, I'm off to research....

Just the right size to touch the ground.
If probably try to tack weld another nut to it. The heat from the welding will also help with removing the nut.

if you take it to discount tire, they can break them off without thinking about it. just bring your truck in for new tires and think it is going to be quick. they broke two or three on my buddies isuzu rodeo one time

If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.

I got all new lug studs on the right rear corner of my Jeep because Goodyear cross threaded them

It would be hard to cross thread 5 lug nuts on one wheel. Probably a newbie with an impact stretched the threads before someone stopped him from burying them so hard.

Running the gun with the lug nut in the socket before the nut is on the stud is your best chance of success to get all 5.

Crossed threads are tight threads.
Good tire shops will use a torque wrench, or at least those torque set impact extensions.

Cross Threading? Isn't that when someone posts a response in the wrong thread?

That’s when you reply in a terse manner in a thread.

BRB : gotta go Google "Terse Manner"

EDIT:
Definition of terse
1 : using few words : devoid of superfluity a terse summary also : short, brusque dismissed me with a terse "no" 2 : smoothly elegant : polished.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Good tire shops will use a torque wrench, or at least those torque set impact extensions.
Many will overtorque with the impact. Then get out the torque wrench. Click, click. Yup. It's torqued.

Dummies.
