Hi, I have a 99 Ranger with a 5.0,302 out of an 85 Mustang n it. A friend owed me some cash and paid me with the Ranger. It needs a lot of work done

I'm starting work on the wiring of the ignition system. whoever wired it when the 302 was installed used any kind of wire, tape, and bubblegum to hook it all together. I have a project ahead of me.

Crossed threads are tight threads.
That motor/trans swap alone will be worth fixing it. But yes definitely replace the bubble gum and wire with nuts and bolts lol

I'm afraid to get real deep in the bubble gum. I may get stuck in it and never get out. I think the ranger will be a long process to fix up.

It will be sticky for sure. It will take time, money, labor, space, and help. Or if you're not into it, post an ad lol someone will want it.

it sure sounds cool though. you can't put an engine that old into a body that new here. well, you can but you will not get an inspection sticker.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Do some research, if your state does OBD II emissions testing with the Gordon Darby system that NH uses, it will never pass inspection. Some one here will jump on the chance to buy it if you decide to sell. But if you decide to finish it, take your time and do it right so you can enjoy it when it's done.
