i have A15.

I just got done cleaning the system registry, deleting my system restore files (nearly 50gb), all of the other standard cleaning procedcures, msconfig and made a custom boot up. Computer is significantly faster now and is booting up with only 25% ram usage.

those pc specs aint bad for a laptop. hell, why would you need 4gb ram, i can run most basic stuff on 512, and GTA4 on 2gigs. a ssd will probly be the only thing worth while. i wouldn't pay for norton antivirus tho, its utter crud. most the infected machines i fix had either norton, McAfee or avg free. best ones ive used are NOD32 and avira, malwarebytes is good too, my shop uses it. vista is realy buggy. avoid it like the plauge, windows 95 is much better. on a side note, store bought laptops are usually preloaded with junk, so clean installing 7 over a formated drive will make it fast, just make sure u got a back up copy of all ur drivers

I run quite a bit of things on this computer that require some decent power. I dont pay for Norton antivirus, I get the top service free. I hate mcafee. Never had an issue with Norton, the government actually just switched over to it (cant be that bad). As soon as I replaced Mcafee with norton it found a few viruses that had been on the computer a long time.

The computer is running awesome right now actually, its pretty amazing. Looks like I just needed to do a little cleaning and deleting. I already ordered my 4gb stick of ram though, I will let you guys know how it works. I will probably end up getting a SSD drive eventually, but windows 7 is in the near future.

one thing I think I forgot to mention which also made a huge difference was I Indexed my drives.

I you strongly advise for your computer optimized SSD (Solid-State Drive),
windows 7 home edition not a professional, i have try and I am disappointed

your english is pretty broken. But I think you are saying that you strongly advise upgrade to an SSD, and when i get windows 7 get the home edition, not professional.

i just indexed my c drive and that made a HUGE difference.
That usually does help too...:)

The least expensive fixes are always the best...make sure to enable your msconfig or set it up so that you have AV and firewall protection...

done, and done.

I also just got my 4gb stick in the mail from tiger direct. Already installed it. This extra 4gb made a pretty noticable difference, about as noticable as all of the stuff I did last night. My computer is blazing now.:icon_thumby:

Cant even imagine if I get that SSD drive.
