help removing a program..

Need help desperately. there is a thing that attached it's self to my girlfriend's computer called sweet im . I've tried almost everything i could think of to get this P.I.A. program/virus, what ever the f#$% it is off this hp laptop.

We have done a system go-back, went into the control panel and tried to remove it there. webroot anti virus won't phase it malware-bites, cccleaner won't either.

PLEASE ANY IDEAS? we don't have a reboot disc for this pc running windows vista. as a last resort she suggested to

Found this on Google...there is usually a "fix" for these things somewhere on the internet...some of them are worse than the app, but most work fine...I had problems with one virus and the solution on the spyware website worked...only problem I've had to outsource...now I do it first...

How do I uninstall SweetIM?
To uninstall SweetIM and remove it from your computer go to your Windows control panel and click on Add/Remove programs. Select Macrogaming ltd (the company that builds SweetIM) and click on remove program. This will effectively remove SweetIM from your computer.

How do I uninstall SweetIM for IE?
You can minimize the SweetIM for IE toolbar by clicking the right button when placing the cursor on the toolbar, and then selecting SweetIM for Internet Explorer. If you still want to uninstall SweetIM for IE and remove it from your computer go to your Windows control panel and click on Add/Remove programs. Select SweetIM for Internet Explorer and click on remove program. This will effectively remove SweetIM for IE from your computer.

I'm having trouble uninstalling the Toolbar.
Windows 2000 or XP users must be logged in as an administrator to uninstall SweetIM for IE. After logging in, Select to remove "SweetIM for Internet Explorer" from the "Add/Remove Programs" window, in the "Control Panel". If you are unsuccessful, please try installing the Toolbar again and then uninstalling.

BFH works great for getting rid of virus/trojans on a PC. Of course, it tends to be *slightly* overkill.....

Id say don't download no name apps or programs but it's your comp.

Oh yeah. Always pay attention to what you're downloading..
Facebook and myspace- all the apps for it, the quizes... Things like "how sexy is (name) today"-- things like that can be packed with stuff.. I know a lot of people that run no antivirus on a pc with no problems.. Just be careful
