I have just transplanted the power window motor and gear ass., Power mirror, and power lock from a '99 into my manual '01. I thought I had the wiring figured out but apparently not. I need help on what to hook up where. I have the stock wiring harness, just cut it at the boot that goes from the door into the cab. Thanks In Advance.

it would be easier to run your own new wiring with a couple relays

Thats what I plan on doing. Well, off the harness anyhow. I did get the window and mirror working though. Which is good cause the window was stuck down and its cold here. Once I can figure out the locks I will post up pics and explination for others.

i did this on an escort zx2 last year. im pretty sure as long as you have the 99 harness for the door ford usually has the plug built into the harness for the truck. the door should plug right it. as fas as i know all the main harness are the same the just have the plugs as part of it hanging unused. the door harness should plug in.

good!! ive heard that for the locks, u need 2 relays, one for locking and 1 for unlocking.
thats when u have an alarm system tho. maybe the switches are enough for the casual locking/unlocking activity.
u need 2 hot lines anyway, so the hard part is to properly wire the switch i guess. remember that u need to reverse the polarity so the lock works in the opposite direction.
and a how-to is a great idea!!

Does anyone know if the door indicator switch goes bad on the lock assemblies. I have the power assembly in an the Door Ajar light and doom light are on. You really cant mess the wiring up on that thing its simply a ground and a Yellow/Blk wire that splices into the vehicles Yellow/Blk wire. Right now I just disconnected that wire so both lights are out all the time. I would like to fix this though so my dome lights come one when the door is opened. TIA

The door adjar switch is ussually just stuck. If you remove them and clean them that should fix it.

*Update*
I got the power lock working now also. Now the drivers side is full power. Next I will be doing the passangers side. When I get some time I will post the how to with pictures and all. It was real easy. In the mean time if anyone has questions on it let me know.

Power kicks ass!
