Help! How do I get the door ajar switch out enough

I can't for my life get it out to get to the damn contact! Is there som trick, or is the wires stuck in there? How do I get inside??
I don't dare pull too hard, or I fear I'll pull it out of the socket and never see that $#%@ wire again.

(1988 ranger stx 2,9 extended cab)

According to the tech manual it should have wire enough for it to come right out!

I can see and feel the harness where they attach behind the parking brake foot-lever assembly. But there are not any slack to move it around much. Doesn't help jiggeling

Never pulled one out on that year

Can you unwrap some of the harness to get extra wire, or remove a fastener to pull harness over to get more wire

Trying to cut a fastener now, but it's really tight and angled.

Wire may have been pinched internally during assembly, so no pulling it out without more disassembly
