Hey a guy in town has a set of 70-1172 pacesetter headers, its for a 93-97 ranger, but is it possible that they will work on a 98?
i mean the exhaust system didnt change that much did it?

he has them brand new for $220 and i want to snag them quick

It's not the exhaust that changed drastically, its the suspension. 98 went from TTB to sala, its likely 97 won't work on a 98 truck, but 98 pipes would work on a 97...

If it's that good of a deal.....eyeball em to see if they would work with some modifying.....Got a friend with a mig unit...

I got some headers half-price for my V8....I had to cut a small section out of one of the tubes and mig-weld a curved piece of tube in....(I'm learning as I go/bought the small mig unit just for truck/home projects...it's more than paid for itself $200)

the headers work great for 2 years now.....

This is one of those things thats really hard to tell without direct experience in the matter.(which I dont have.)

My guess would be you can make them work, but there is probably a bit of modification needed.

If nothing else, I have a feeling they wont line up with your Y pipe quite right. Certainly something doable, if you've got the tools/know-how.
