I think my dash is dying, I've had this truck 17+yrs now. The gas gauge does the same thing every time. First started shows full (maxed out) and within a few minutes shows a hair above empty, no matter how much gas is in it. And now oil pressure sometimes shows normal and other times about half that level. No change with engine rpm's. Speedo needle "bounces and occasionally just goes crazy jumping over 30mph and more while cruising. It's a 93 with 340k on it now. What to look for/fix. Lube speedo cable? What lube to use? Thanks for any help.

The anti-slosh circuit on the back of the dash is most likely cause for fuel gauge problems, you can replace, rebuild or by-pass, but dash needs to come out to get to it.
Google: ford ranger anti slosh module

As for oil pressure gauge, on a '93 it uses an oil pressure switch, it either shows 1/2 or 0, on or off.
The switch on the engine grounds the gauge to the block when your oil pressure is above 6psi, gauge has a resistor built in so gauge goes to 1/2(approx), for it to go down to 1/4 then I would suspect the switch(sender) on the block is starting to fail.

'93 Speedometer gauge uses a cable, when a cable speedometer starts bouncing it means one of the metal wires that make up the cable has broken.
It gets hung up on the shield/covering and then releases causing the bouncing needle.
