Front crank seal leaking

Just as the title says. I bought my bronco last April, and realized it had a small leak around the front crank seal, but it has persistantly gotten worse. I had figured it had somewhat dried up b/c the truck only had a few thousand miles since the engine rebuild. I was told high milage oil has seal swellers to help with this problem, but thus far is has not been helpful. I only drive the B2 about once a week or sometimes even less. Today was the first time I've driven it in two weeks since I've been dealing with a battery problem. I was an hour away from home when I realized the problem, so I put some Bars stop leak in it to get back home. It was just temporary until I could find a more perminant solution. Anyone have any advice that doesn't involve removing the pan, crank, etc.

Stops engine oil leaks.
Expands seals & gaskets.
Will not harm engine or plug oil filters

It's not the rear seal, but the front. Will it work on it too?

Ive used CD2 stopleak in my wifes taurus for 6 years know, 1 a year.....leaks less now then it probably did new...............seriously though...2.8, prob. a little blow by in the crank case, meaning, you might wanna change pcv valve for fun....I seen one build pressure enough to ooze oil out the front.

Front main seal, just take the pully off and then you should be able to remove it like the rear....poke/drill two holes in it pull it out and put the new one in with a socket.

Any chemical stop leak is temporary, but if it works for nickoroniper, go ahead and try it.

Replacing the seal is time consuming, but doable with the right tools. Ford Rotunda kits are available on ebay and elsewhere and the kits have tools to easily remove and replace the front seal in the car. You have to remove the crank dampener and whatever is in the way, but it is a cheap fix - if you have the tools.

Thanks Paul. I'll look into it. If I do it, I'll just go to the tire/repair shop I used to work at since there are a couple of mechanics there that will help me and let me use thier tools.
I did change the PCV valve and let the truck run for about 10-15 mins in the garage with nothing leaking right now. I'm not getting my hopes up. I will drive it to my inlaws tonight and look at it when I get there.
