Hello all, this is my 2008 Ford Ranger (not original bed), it’s a 4x4 4.0 with a 5 speed, and I’m loving it so far! I have some big plans for it, I am going to attempt a front end change to the painted bumper with fog lights, a vinyl floor change since this one has tears, swap in some “new” seats that aren’t tore up, and then also give it an off-road make over with larger/more aggressive tires, some American racing baja wheels, a bull bar (thinking Westin), some rally lights, a levelling kit and possibly other goodies. If you have any ideas on what I should do, I’d love to hear them!

You will get all kinds of Ideas I'm sure.

Have a look around the Tech Library... there are many "How To's" you can have a look at.

Nice first vehicle BTW... enjoy it and take good care of it.

My dad was thinking about painting it the factory dark grey they came in, but the red is growing on me! I may just do paint corrections in spring and leave it be. I plan on having this truck a while, it only has 129k KMs and I’ll most likely keep it as an off-road/utility vehicle after I can afford another car for a daily.

I got my hands on it in 65' after both my older brothers had a go with it......I totaled it in less than a year.

Crossed threads are tight threads.
Awesome congrats. I say it depends what you wanna do with it. Out we have pretty much everything, but mostly desert, so Im going for pre runner style setup as opposed to say a rock crawler or mudder.

Id recommend a leveling kit, tires and an exhaust for now, which is probably the best cost to preformance improvement ratio.

What's the worst that could happen?
I've never been a voice of logic, but...
And you may have already done this but assess what it needs to be safe.
A Red extended cab stepside -- gorgeous Red being the operative. Black might be the only color I'd pick over RED, but some on here consider any other color besides red to be primer -- just sayin.'

Make sure brakes are good. Lights. Fluid change...all the usual sfuff. And enjoy... Welcome to the forum. The members here are awesome.

Considering the history of V6~4.0L~SOHC engines,
be sure to change the Oil+Filter often; if not done already
replace the two OilPressurized TimingTensioners,
swap the leaky Plastic ThermoStat Housing for an Aluminum version,
swap the leaky PlasticTanked 1CoreRadiator for an AllAlum 2\3\4CoreRadiator.
Truck looks good!
Drive careful + do maintenance & hopefully it will take you another 200k+ miles.

Never put off ‘til tomorrow what you can put off indefinitely
My first was a 3-wheel drive 6-cyl Chevy C10. It was 4wd 18years before I bought it, but one of the hubs was busted when I got it. Still some of the best fun I ever had! No matter how feeble and ugly, you always remember the first. Same with vehicles.
