I have a dash from a 92 sitting in my garage that I got dyed and looking brand new a little while ago and havn't used it yet. I just pulled my 86 dash out of my truck to body drop it. I have swapped in 2nd gen dashes to first gen rangers before but I used a custom wiring harness both times. Can I use the first gen guage cluster harness with the 92 gauges or do I need a 89-94 harness? I don't want to use the 92 dash but I can't afford and don't want to clean up the 86 dash.

I have a 88 bronco II that I am installing a 93 dash into, the two plugs that plug into the back of the dash on the 88 are different sizes, the two plugs on the 93 are the same size. Not sure if this info helps you or not.
