The picture in the tech library as for the firing order look contradictory to eachother. The pic on top is different from the one below it. as far as cylinder location..

It is proper. the cylnders don't fire to the same order as the wires... they are swapped in the banks... you follow what wire from the dis to the proper plug.... the firing order is not 1-2-3-4-5-6...... sorry if I misunderstood your comment

Also the coil pack is NOT laid out the same way as the engine
or firing order.

Hey Allan, i am looking in Haynes 83-92 ranger bronco manual. and they are showing the DIS as follows.... (going across from front to back) 1-6 ... 2-5 .... 3-4 .... and the tech page shows (going across) 1-5 ... 2-6 ... 3-4... from Haynes this would cross #'s 4&6 ... and the tech page would wire the drivers side out of wack ... ahhhh this is what allan alluded to. haynes shows the NOT laid out the same... gotcha

Pay close attention to the small block, referencing the coil pack. The Passenger bank is in order, the Drivers is somewhat random from 5, 6, 4 (on the coilpack) front to back...

So which one is right? Dont you run the wire from 1 on the coil pack to 1 on the block?

Oh I get it! the big picture on top represents the motor and the smaller one is refrencing the coil pack! Thank you,
