My Bronco II had a little rectangular mirror on the passenger side sun visor, it came unglued when I put the visor down today and of course cracked when it hit the floor. I thought it was after market but I found a ford logo on the back. It looks like this one.
https://m.ebay.com/itm/73-79-LTD-BRONCO-NOS-OEM-FORD-D5AZ-17A679-B-VANITY-MIRROR-ASSY/273385881305?hash=item3fa7117ed9:g:hC0AAOSwPcBbO~Es

Was it factory, or added later? Im considering replacing it, but if it isnt original I'll just clean up my visor and move on. Just want some advice before I decide what to do. Im trying to keep this thing as original as possible but it keeps denying me that right.

If it was factory it would be extremely rare.

But it has the ford logo on it. Aftermarket companies usually don't do that. Dealer option added maybe

Hmm. How do I explain the distinction that you missed in the nuances here.

My truck has power windows, locks, and a rear axle with disc brakes and a limited slip unit. These are all OEM Ford parts, taken from other Ford vehicles, and all bearing FoMoCo logos somewhere.

Not one of the parts involved in any of the things that I listed were "factory equipped" to that truck.

Just because it is a Ford part doesn't mean some previous owner didn't slap it in where it didn't belong because it fit.

Someone could have easily added this on before you got it. It says "Ford" not "bronco" so its not like a hard or rare part to come by. They have been putting mirrors in ford visors for a while so someone could have easily added this. I would get it and put it on. Maybe it is factory. From what you know the mirror on the visor is "original" to when you got it so then put the mirror on.

But who would go through the trouble of putting a mirror in the visor, the factory or some Bubba who wants to make sure his passenger don't have any boogers in her nose.:icon_rofl:LOLOLOl ( sarcasm)

This might be more original equipment than I originally thought. My B2 has a mirror attached to the passenger visor that I always just assumed was put there by a PO, never looked at it too close. I thought it was held on by the duct tape that holds the rest of the visor together.

I just went out and looked closely, it is not held on by duct tape, but rather two circles of two-sided tape, and looks exactly like the one in the eBay listing.

Easy example? Me. I junked a beater 5.0 Explorer as a donor for my Ranger. Among other things, I yanked the passenger visor with a lighted mirror. Interior color matched my truck, so why not?

With no real way to scale it it looks too big for a Ranger visor.

Is there a part number on yours?

Well, looks like I'm sourcing an exact part number now. I'm...annoyed...this is gonna suck to find.

Update: Just looked it up, listed as for a '67 Mercury, but same mirror. Prolly gonna pick it up.

Could
also get one of those plastic locker mirrors and cut it with a utility knife. Requires just a score like glass then bend it
