Engine cutting out solved? Can someone tell me where this ground wire goes?

There is a ground wire on the firewall coming out of the left hand side of a silver device. It was just dangling on the firewall, cut loose from wherever it was, down next to a white plug by the exhaust manifold. I wrapped it around the spark plug wires and drove it around and it is done hesitating at 1.2-2.2KRPM, it maybe hopped once in 3rd gear, I figure well, this ground wire needs to go wherever it belongs before it really becomes a non-issue. Help! Thanks in advance.

Yeah, a pic would help..

Does it have an eyelet end on it? Like it would bolt on somewhere? Most do, and bolt to the body, intake manifold or block.

I thought about posting a pic but it was too late for all that when I discovered this last night. Here is the pic showing you where the ground wire comes from. It was hanging on the firewall, with the end over by the two white plugs you can see at the bottom of the pic. It could go ANYWHERE though. If the wiring diagram had the grounds on it, I wouldn't even have to ask.

Thanks in advance.

That one should bolt to the back of the driver's side head.

Feel back there for a threaded hole.

Thanks a bunch, I'll give that a go.

On mine that one is bolted to one of the intake manifold bolts. It's actually a bolt that has extra thread and a nut on it just for this ground.

Back of the head was right. It's on there and it fires up a lot smoother than it used to. The hesitation coming in at 1-2K RPM when flooring it on the higher gears is still there, but I hope this ground fixed the shutting down/hard starting issue at least. Thanks for the help.

I looked at the spark plugs and my mechanic said that he had just measured one of them to be at a gap of 75 and the rest were also close to that. I can't believe this truck was still running at all with all the problems it had. It was throwing on all sorts of check engine's the night I drove it after doing the spark plugs, MAF cleaning and oil change. My mechanic said the sensors were just going crazy because everything was starting to work normally again. Now it's doing all sorts of stuff it didn't use to! For some reason the seat belt warning light/sound came back, I'd never even seen it since I bought the truck. It also runs much better at lower PRMs, and it also seems to not be running as high RPMs to achieve the same speeds it used to (which makes sense with the firing as bad as it was). Even the heat works now even though it didn't before.

Thank you guys for your help.
