My credo
To each their own ____. If it's no skin off my butt, then I couldn't care less.
Happy Holiday greetings to all.
To start, I'm not having any problems. Just upgrading several different items and anticipating swapping to a turbo charged engine. My question is about electric vacuum pumps.
All the pumps I'm finding are booster pumps, but what I want is a stand alone vacuum pump. A pump capable of continuous use suppling all my vacuum needs.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

You already have a vacuum reservoir used for cab vents, it can be used for EGR and other vacuum devices as well
Vacuum is not "used up" unless there are leaks, and there will be, but not big leaks, so you don't need much to hold vacuum in the reservoir, should already have a check valve
You will have vacuum in the intake at idle, and unless you will be on a high speed race full time, each time you decelerate vacuum will go high to replensh vacuum reservoir

PCV system and power brakes are another matter
Power brakes have their own reservoir, that's why its so big, lol
You usually get 3 full brake pedal presses with engine off, and that uses up the reserve, pedal gets hard to push
But the thing is when you use the brakes your foot is usually off the gas pedal, throttle closed so vacuum goes high to replensh booster

Google: turbos and PCV Valves
Standard PCV system needs some changes when used with turbos and its not just about the vacuum
