I have a 83 2wd xlt single cab. I replaced the original domelight with one from a 96 f150 and put an led in that. I noticed a few days ago, that the dome light comes on with the headlights, very dimly. when i step on the brakes it lights up, but still not to full brightness. It also flashes with the blinkers. Can somebody help me figure this out? its driving me crazy already

There is a wire that is exposed in the system, and you are getting cross feed into the dome.
The dome light is a ground switched system (always has power to the light, but can be grounded by any of many switches).

Disconnect each door switch (in each door and in light switch) to see if the problem quits. If it does, that is the circuit with the issue (probably prior to the switch). If none of them stop the problem, it is on the supply side.
